Mani Monday: NYFW Meets Dia De Los Muertos

Maybe it’s the Blair Waldorf in me, but if there’s anything I love in life and style, it’s the occasional theme. This manicure from New York Fashion Week totally fits that bill. Channeling Frida Kahlo’s designs, this skull-adorned, Essie-only manicure graced the fingers of models at the Rebecca Minkoff show last week. If you’re a budding nail artist clamoring to cop the look, Byrdie recently posted a tell-all about the manicure’s inspiration and the actual shades used…all Essie products, naturally. With a neutral base coat of their “Tart Deco” hue coupled with accent shades “Butler Please” (an electric blue), “Blanc” (bright white), and “Licorice” (noir), lead manicurist Michelle Saunders created the folk art skulls and flowers to perfectly compliment Minkoff’s latest Mexico-inspired offerings. A theme and a runway? Now that’s love.
Nailed It.
