Major Moment: Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior

There’s something about J.Law: The It Girl and Academy Award winner seems to be everyone’s girl crush of the moment. After all, she’s gorgeous, but she’s also real. She never seems to take herself too seriously. She likes a good cheeseburger or milkshake. And she totally ate it going up the stairs to accept her Oscar! We can all relate. Aside from being our imaginary BFF, Jen is also a spokeswoman for Dior, meaning she gets first dibs on Raf Simons’ most epic (and current) threads. For Jennifer, this usually means dresses (like the Dior stunner she wore to the Oscars) and other classic pieces, generally in neutral and pastel hues. At the Christian Dior haute couture show yesterday, however, Miss Lawrence shook things up in a major way: palazzo pants + a crop top.

As we’ve discussed on this very blog, both palazzo pants and crop tops are major trends for the season, but we had yet to see a celeb combine the two on-duty–that is, on the red carpet or at an event. The pieces, which are conveniently from the Dior Resort ’14 collection, are perfect for summer: on-trend, body-conscious, and a little sporty. Oh, and nothing to trip over 😉 While the look is definitely out of Lawrence’s typical style wheelhouse, I’m loving the unexpected departure. Sometimes you just need to mix things up, right? For similar pieces on a budget, team your favorite pair of aviators with these palazzo pants from Mango, and this lace crop (on sale!) from ASOS, then add your go-to pair of round-toe black pumps. Done and done.

Are you into Jennifer Lawrence’s outfit? Does this make you want to rock a crop or some culottes? Which other celebrities have been looking extra fab lately? Leave a comment! I’d love to know what you think!
