There are a few shows from the 90s/early 2000s that I’d like to see make a comeback: “As Told By Ginger”, “So Little Time”, “Lizzie McGuire”, “Bug Juice”, and anything/everything ever on TGIF or One Saturday Morning. And, as you all have likely heard by now, it’s happening!!! On a small scale, anyway. Disney Channel is officially set to air the sequel to the ultimate Friday night sitcom “Boy Meets World”, titled “Girl Meets World”.
Production is said to begin this summer, with the show’s premier sometime in 2014. What makes GMW especially awesome, however, is that it’s not merely a spinoff, but a legitimate sequel! Cory and Topanga are actually reprising their BMW characters, playing the proud parents of Riley–the aforementioned “Girl”. But can it live up to our 90s-kid expectations?! Since the creators and executive producer of Girl Meets World both worked on Boy Meets World, chances are good that we won’t be disappointed. Oh, and Disney has already released intel that Girl will be set in NYC with Cory as a history teacher at his daughter’s school and Topanga owning a pudding shop, which all sounds about right! It’s not fashion or style or shopping or makeup or beauty–my usual sources of excitement–and I mayyy be a little bit old for The Disney Channel, but I for one cannot wait for Girl Meets World to premier. Shameless!
Did you watch Boy Meets World? Will you check out the 2014 sequel? Which 90s shows do you wish would make a comeback?
