#MCM: Tie Bar

So far, we’ve covered pocket squares and the Eldredge knot, but another key player in the ultimate suit game is the tie bar. The tie bar, tie clip, or tie clasp all serve the same function…to hold the tie in place, especially when the tie is made of slippery silk material. Popular in the 1920s, the tie bar became a major fashion statement. Like the pocket square and the Eldredge knot, tie bars are a unique opportunity to express yourself  (sans Diplo). Guys often forget this little detail, but it really adds a tad of elegance to any ordinary tie game. Every major retailer, brand, and fashion house carries the little metal clasp. Some are solid silver, while others are ornate. It all depends on your personality. Channel your inner Gatsby and try on a tie  bar for no damn reason because you don’t always need an occasion to dress like a badass!
