Model Karlie Kloss has been having a major moment for the last twelve months or so! From Vogue covers, to VS Angel titles, to having a hairstyle named after her, Kloss has fashion “It Girl” written all over her. Karlie’s latest style venture has her venturing out from in front of the lens into a design studio: The model has collaborated with denim label FRAME to create an exclusive capsule collection launching this June.
Karlie’s collection, which will feature one flare and one skinny jean, aims to solve a problem that Kloss herself has dealt with: finding pants that fit. “I’m freakishly tall,” Karlie told Vogue , “so this is something I’ve struggled with my whole life.” Struggle no longer, tall girls! Karlie’s collection will offer her special-edition Frame jeans with a whopping 40-inch inseam! As a frame of reference, that’s 8 inches longer than the standard 32-inch denim inseam and 6 inches longer than 34-inch inseams offered by designer denim manufacturers. “But Liza!” You’re probably thinking, “don’t they already make long jeans?” Yes, kittens, they do. Traditional long length denim inseams, however, range from 35 to 38 inches, so Kloss is still ahead of the game.
Models and mere mortals alike will finally have relief from too-short-jeans syndrome when Karlie’s FRAME Denim collection hits Barneys and Net-A-Porter in a few weeks…Assuming, of course, that they’re willing to shell out $209 – $219 for those extra inches.
How do you feel about Karlie’s latest project? Would you pay a premium for perfectly fitting jeans?
