Last night I had the wonderful opportunity of attending a workshop on how social media and fashion interact. Totally relevant to what we do here at Mieux & Mieux, right? It was held at the ultra chic Tootsies boutique in Dallas by gorgeous Anokhi Shah Patel of Shah Social Media, talented Nicholas and Taylor of Nicholas + Taylor LLC, and the hilarious Rhonda Sargent Chambers from RSC Show Productions.
Tootsies is a high-end retailer that carries many upscale designers such as Roberto Cavalli and BCBG. The lower floor has more casual wear, whereas the top floor, where the event took place, is more formal wear. I loved the layout, classy decor, and chic vibe. The store carries such a wide variety of the latest trends and fashions for all ages, you are bound to find just what you’re looking for.
The evening began with Rhonda Sargent Chambers introducing the event. Anokhi Shah Patel then lead an informed discussion on why social media is so relevant to how we exchange ideas about fashion. The Dallas community got some valuable information on branding, management of the various media platforms, how high-end designers use social media, and how important it is that the industry utilize social media platforms. Did you know many high-end designers give new products to bloggers, letting them introduce the product first to gage whether it’s a good venture or not? Who knew?
The night was also filled with fun trend highlights by L.A. stylists Nicholas & Taylor, who had great insight and tips as to what to anticipate for the summer! We see lots of funky prints, bright neons, stripe pants, and pseudo-athletic wear. One of my stunning model friends, Sirisha Reddy from The Clutts Agency, looks absolutely fabulous in a kaleidoscope print dress (pictured above left)!

Dallas has a thriving fashion scene and seeing workshops like this lead the conversation of fashion and social media is great for educating the masses. Seeing how closely media and fashion are intertwined only cements what we do here at Mieux & Mieux. We have a passion for style and love to communicate our ideas through the blog as well as provide you with the same same shopping experience online that you would receive in-store. Fashion is a conversation, so we’d love to hear your thoughts. How does social media influence your ideas about fashion? What blogs do you follow? Where do you get outfit inspirations from? Let us know! Also, do not forget to add/like Shah Social Media, Nicholas + Taylor LLC, and RSC Show Productions on all the social media platforms to keep up with local events!
