I get so excited when megababe Lana Del Rey drops new music. I just can’t contain myself, especially since it’s just released. This jam isn’t particularly new. It’s actually a cover of Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood‘s original “Summer Wine“. Lady Del Rey always speaks very highly of Nancy Sinatra and channels the Jersey vixen often, so no surprises that she’d cover one of Nancy’s songs. Her reminiscence is always so on point with the direction of her videos. I really enjoyed watching her rendition, and revisiting the original to see the juxtaposition. It’s brilliant! Enjoy:
So, confession. I’m not a big Florence fan. And I don’t need much else to compel me to watch “The Great Gatsby“. I mean…Leonardo, Tobey, Lana on the track, and the fact that it’s one of my favorite books ever, is reason enough, but Florence’s song is gravy baby. I am so insanely obsessed. I downloaded this last night at 3am, and I’ve already listened to it over 43 times. Listen:
And if you’re as excited as I am, take a listen to the rest of “The Great Gatsby” soundtrack preview featuring Lana Del Rey, Beyonce & Andre 3000, Florence, and others! You can pre-order the full soundtrack on iTunes on April 23 and the album is out May 7!
Well, that’s today’s jam. You are so very welcome 🙂
