Trend Alert: Black & White Stripes

One of my all time favorite color combos is the union of basic white and black. There is something so insanely classic and pristine about the solid, bold colors that make every one look good! There’s so many great variations of the vertical burglar stripes ranging from super thick to thin striping, and there’s so much room to get creative. Spring fashion week season was heavy on the high-impact pairing of B&W. Let’s take a look at how people are rocking this haute trend:

The hottest referee pieces to hit consumer stores are the Zara striped shirt ($59.90) and Forever 21 striped skinny jeans ($22.80). Other stores and brands that carry similar styles are H&M, GoJane.com, Nastygal.com, I.N.C., and Vince Camuto.

If the bold stripes aren’t totes doing it for you, try pairing them with black & white polka dots for some wild print on print action. My fav black & white pairing is color-blocking with classy camel brown (like a belt or camel leather jacket!), or then purple and blues. Neon belts and tops are also a great way to make a statement. The best way to balance out the neutral B&W is to find one color pop element, be it a neon necklace, belt, or lush red lips. The only advice for high-impact stripes is to keep the accessories or make up controlled since there is SO much going on with the ‘fit. Other than that, have fun with it!
