If you hadn’t heard, fashion house Yves Saint Laurent announced that new creative director Hedi Slimane would begin his reign by dropping the Yves from the iconic brand and opt for a newSaint Laurent Paris last year. Slimane made some bold changes before his first collection even released by moving the studio from Paris to L.A., but this by far was the biggest statement. Creative directors take on new fashion houses without messing with the historical reputation of the brand all the time. Alexander Wang was newly appointed creative director of Balenciaga, but he hasn’t changed much (not yet, at least). Many consumer advocates have created various fashion protest t-shirts, such as the one pictured above. What could this mean for the future of the YSL fashion house? Mieux & Mieux wants to know.
